Uganda Premier League defending champions, Vipers Sports Club have sacked head coach, Livingstone Mbabazi with immediate effect, the club has announced.
“We announce today that the decision has been taken to part company with our head coach Livingstone Mbabazi. We thank Mbabazi for his contribution and wish him well for the future,” Vipers announced on Monday.
The club also announced that Richard Wasswa will take charge of the team in the interim for the remainder of the season, along with Jose Esdras Costa Lopez, Fred Muhumuza, Richard Kasule Bakabulindi and Ali Kimera as assistants.
“The search for a new head coach next season (2024/25) is underway and we will make a further announcement when that process is complete.”
Mbabazi is the umpteenth coach that Vipers has sacked after less than a year.
For Mbabazi’s case, he was appointed coach, in January.
Vipers are third on the Uganda Premier League table on 41 points and play record champions SC Villa later today, Tuesday at Wankulukuku.
