Uganda Premier League defending champions, Vipers Sports Club have appointment Livingstone Mbabazi as their new head coach, the club announced on Monday afternoon.
“Vipers Sports Club is delighted to welcome Charles Livingstone Mbabazi as our new head coach, joining us on a two-year employment contract,” Vipers said in a statement .
Mbabazi, 43 has been at Arua Hill SC but reports recently indicated he had resigned from the club he partly owns.
The former Cranes player will take over from Brazilian international Leonard Martins Neiva, who was shown the exit two weeks ago in a shocking move by the Kitende based club. .
Mbabazi’s immediate task will therefore be the overseeing a turnaround of events at the club, having suffered two successive league defeats in the league that saw them go fourth on the table on 24 points from 13 games .
Mbabazi’s first game will be against NEC FC in the Uganda Premier League later this week.
Mbabazi has previously been coach at Wakiso Giants FC, Onduparaka FC, Mbarara City FC, Somalia National team, Soltilo Bright Stars FC, Lweza FC, and Masavu.
He also played for KCCA FC and Ireland side St Patrick Athletic, Ha Noi ACB and Binh Duong in Vietnam and Wandegeya FC.
