As part of its commitment to giving back to the community, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Uganda, through the UBA Foundation’s Food Bank initiative has visited Hope for AIDS Orphans Uganda to spread joy, love and support in celebration of the festive season.
The team led by Shamim Nambuusi, the Head Legal, Hoziana Niyonsaba Ssemanda, the Head Marketing and Jonathan Sunday, the Regional Head Upcountry, was warmly welcomed by Mr. Daniel Mwebaze, the Director of Hope for AIDS Orphans Uganda.
The visit included donation of essential day to day items to support the orphanage, which provides care and education for over 150 children living with HIV or orphaned by HIV .
Mwebaze expressed heartfelt gratitude for UBA Uganda’s generous support, highlighting that the donated items, especially the food supplies were timely in this long holiday and will greatly benefit the children as they celebrate the festive season.
During her address, she emphasized the importance of giving children hope, even in the face of challenges like living with HIV and becoming orphans at such attender age.
“It is a great gesture to show these children that they matter, their future is bright, and they are loved,” she noted.
UBA’s Hoziana Niyonsaba appreciated what the orphanage is doing to the children in their custody and the community.
She praised the director’s unwavering dedication and encouraged him to continue his noble work.
“Children are a gift from God, and their well-being should always be our priority,” she said.
“As UBA we value the well being of such a young generation because they are the leaders and bankers of tomorrow, that is why through our CSR initiatives we have programs like these to share gifts, love and encouraging stories with them.”
Jonathan Sunday highlighted the significance of investing in the future of children.
“Providing for and nurturing these kids is not just a duty; it is an investment in their bright and promising futures,” he said.
The visit was filled with heartwarming moments as the UBA team and children shared joyful dances, laughter, and the spirit of togetherness.
Through UBA Foundation’s different programs, UBA Uganda is dedicated to supporting education, environmental conservation, governance, health and sharing essential items with needy communities across the country.
The visit was part of UBA Uganda’s efforts and commitment to give back to society and celebrate the festive season with those most in need.
