President Museveni has defended Speaker, Anita Among saying she is being attacked by people sponsored by homosexuals and traitors .
“It is the traitors who are working for foreigners. Those are the real traitors. They are not mistake makers, they are not learners who need advice, they are outright traitors. First of all, they are working for foreigners but moreover working for bad types of foreigners like homosexuals and imperialists who want Africans to be slaves again,”Museveni said.
“How can you talk so much on social media about Anita Among, how about those working for foreigners? We are going to expose those traitors.”
The president was on Saturday speaking to locals of Bukedea at Emokor Grounds after commissioning Bukedea Teaching Hospital and College of Health Sciences in Bukedea District constructed by Speaker Among.
Among has in the last month or so been in the news after being accused of “unnecessary expenditures” and blowing taxpayers’ money.
Netizens, especially on social media have since asked Among to resign following the exposure that depicted huge sums of money she has spent on unnecessary items.
However, the president said it is wrong for those attacking Among, describing her critics as puppets and traitors who are serving foreign interests.
Museveni described the critics as puppets and traitors who are serving the interests of ‘bad’ foreigners.
“Our problem is not Anita Among or MPs, it’s the traitors who are working for foreigners. Those are the real traitors. They are not mistake-makers, or learners who need advice, they are outright traitors,” Museveni said.
“When Anita Among came, she now works closely with the whole system. That is why you don’t hear standoffs. Therefore, I salute Anita Among. Whatever she may not know I will tell her because we are all here, we all live here. So, putting Anita Among on social media means there is something wrong with you.”
Speaker Anita Among applauded President Museveni for accepting to commission the school.
As of today, we have 2,000 students in that school. We have a vocational and teaching school and now we have a hospital. The hospital has come out of the secondary school, and I want to thank you for all your support,” the Speaker said.
“Because of the support you gave to us as Anita Foundation, we have been able to ensure that that hospital supports the community and because it supports the community that leads us to the money economy. We are treating people for free using the money we get from the school,” she said.
