Police have urged members of the public with information leading to the arrest of suspects behind the assassination attempt on House of Prayer Ministries’ Pastor Aloysius Bugingo to pass it onto them.
Addressing journalists on Monday, Police spokesperson , Fred Enanga said the shs20 million bounty placed on information leading to the arrest of these suspects is not yet claimed.
“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has extended the bounty offer of shs20 million for anyone, who can help them catch the wanted murder suspects, behind the alleged brutal murder by shooting of Richard Muhumuza and the Attempted murder of Pr. Bujingo Aloysius, and the subsequent recovery of the murder weapon,”Enanga said.
“The reward amounts posted will still be honoured for information that leads to an arrest.”
He said that in order to be eligible for the cash reward, members of the public must provide information to authorities using telephone contact 0741111333 or reach the Special Investigations Division, at CID Headquarters, in person.
“ All tips are anonymous, regardless of how they are submitted. We wish to remind the public that callers’ anonymity is guaranteed.”
Enanga however warned members of the public that they should not dare apprehend the suspects since they are considered armed and dangerous.
Early this month, unknown assailants traveling on a motorcycle targeted Bugingo’s vehicle in an incident that happened at around 9pm along Namungona , Zone 2 , Kasubi Rubaga Division Kampala at Bwalakata Junction along National Housing Road.
Bugingo’s bodyguard, Corporal Richard Muhumuza was killed by the assailants during the shooting.
