Police in Kampala are hunting for a security guard who shot his colleague dead after an argument over shs2000.
According to Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the incident happened in Kitamanyangamba zone, Kagugube parish in Kampala Central division when Issa Walugo, a security guard with Absolute Guard Services and Investigation Limited shot 24-year-old Andrew Tumwebaze, a casual labour dead after developing a misunderstanding over shs2000.
“It’s alleged that Tumwebaze was shot after they picked up a disagreement. It is also alleged that Walugo was demanding shs2000 from Tumwebaze that brewed the argument,” Owoyesigyire said.
He noted that police were informed of the incident and found the body lying in a pool of blood on the roadside with four suspected gun wounds on the back, chest and two on the right hand.
“The deceased’s clothes were stained with blood. The security guard is currently on the run.”
The incident points to yet another shooting involving private security guards.
