The route map for the 2025 Absa KH3 7 Hills Run has officially been released by the bank.
This year’s run is set for March, 16.
Starting at Millenium Ground Lugogo (Formerly known as KCCA Grounds), this year’s marathon will feature 21km, 10km, and 5km CEO Fun Run distances.
The 5km race will take the Naguru Road onto the Estate Road, Katalima Road, Katalima Crescent, Lower Naguru Estate Road, Naguru Vale Road, Naguru Drive, Nyonyintono Road, Katale Road to Naggulu Avenue, and then back to the Millennium Grounds.
The 22km race will traverse Naguru Road, Roscoe Road, Impala Avenue to Upper Kololo Terrace, Elgon Terrace, and Acacia Avenue.
From here, runners will cross to Kafu Road, up Akii Bua Road and across Nakasero Hill Road to Kyagwe Road, Rashid Khamis Road, Ginnery Road to Old Kampala Road, and then to Namirembe Road.
The route then follows Willis Road to Centenary Road down Cathedral Hill Road, Albert Cook Road, and Mutesa 1 Road and takes St. Lawrence University Lane, Lubiri Ring Road, Mengo Hill Road, and Nsambya Road via the Nsambya Estate Road onto Tank Hill Road, then connecting via Kikuba Mutwe to Kibuli Road.
From here, runners will take Press House Road, Mukwano Road, and Access Road to get to Jinja Road, then onto Wampewo Avenue, making a return to Roscoe Road, Lugogo Bypass – Rotary Avenue, and then back to Millennium Grounds via Naguru Road.
The 10km route goes through Naguru Estate Road, Katalima Road, Ntinda II Road, and Ntinda Road and then connects to Semawata Road, then to Bukoto-Ntinda Road, Kimera Road, Ntinda II Road, and then connects to Mvule Lane.
The route continues via Upper Naguru Road, Ntinda View Cres, Lower Naguru Road, Naguru E. Road, Vaguru Vale Road, Naguru DR Road, Katale Road, and from there, the route connects to Naggulu Avenue, Shoprite Road, and then comes back to the starting points.
Water points on the 10 km route are at the starting point, then at Katalima Road (Naguru), near Kembabazi, Mvule Lane, and Naguru DR.
On the 5km route, water points are at the starting point, Naguru E Road, and then at Naguru DR Road.
On the 21 km route, water points are also at the starting point, then Nakasero Hill Road, Ginery Road, Willis Road, Mutesa I Road, Lubiri Ring Road, and then Nsambya Road.
KCCA ED as chief runner
At the same function, the Kampala Capital City Authority’s Executive Director, Ms. Sharifah Buzeki has been unveiled as the Chief Runner for this year’s edition
While receiving her kit from the Absa team, Ms Buzeki noted that “Joining the Absa KH3-7 Hills Run as Chief Runner is more than a personal challenge- it’s a stand for every girl who deserves an education. I’m proud to lead this effort alongside Absa and our partners come March 16.”
The KH3-7 Hills Run is in line with Absa Absa Uganda’s commitment to empowering Africa’s tomorrow. The proceeds from the run will directly benefit initiatives that break down barriers to girls’ education.
“It is an honour to have Ms. Sharifah Buzeki as Chief Runner,” said David Wandera, the interim Managing Director at Absa Uganda.
“Her leadership and commitment to bettering Kampala make her an inspiring figure for our participants. We are excited for her to have her support for girls’ education. Registration for the 2025 Absa KH3 – 7 Hills Run is still ongoing, with individual kits priced at shs 35,000 (ordinary) and shs40,000 (timed). Corporate team packages range from shs 2 million to shs5 million, depending on team size.
