Team Thorough YKM, a political pressure group allied to the National Resistance Movement has said it plans to petition President Museveni to table their grievances.
John Mugisha, National coordinator of Team Through YKM, told journalists that since the 2021 elections, they have been denied access to President Museveni to table their grievances.
“We are tired of being used during elections yet after the party victory we are forgotten. We have decided to petition the president through a peaceful walk and hand him our concerns. We call upon all our national coordinators from the various regions to join us in our upcoming peaceful walk to Kololo on April 25, 2025,” Mugisha said.
Mugisha said the party has failed to implement key issues within the 2021 NRM manifesto yet these are crucial.
They say they want to discuss these issues with President Museveni.
The group also queried the co-existence of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), a pressure group associated with Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba saying its duplicating the party work.
Team Thorough was launched in 2016 to canvass support for President Museveni.
Most of its members were those who previously worked with former Prime Minister, Amama Mbabazi in 2016 when he declared bid to oust President Museveni.
