Pope Francis, who has been battling illness for the past three weeks, has expressed his gratitude to the faithful around the world for their prayers and support.
The Pope, who has been receiving close medical attention, is showing signs of stabilizing despite the complexity of his condition.
In a heartfelt message shared on his official X page, Pope Francis acknowledged the love and prayers from people of all backgrounds.
“I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers for my health. May God bless you and the Virgin protect you. Thank you,” he said.
Catholics and non-Catholics alike have been holding special prayer sessions, seeking divine intervention for the Pope’s recovery. Many continue to send messages of goodwill, hoping for his full restoration to health.
On Thursday, March 6th, Pope Francis sent a short but moving audio message from the hospital to the faithful gathered in St. Peter’s Square.
“I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your prayers for my health from the Square. I accompany you from here. May God bless you and the Virgin protect you. Thank you,” he said.
This marked the first time his voice had been heard in public in over three weeks. His last public speech was on February 12th, during a General Audience, when he apologized for being unable to read the catechesis due to his illness. He was later hospitalized on February 14th.
The latest health update from the Holy See Press Office indicates that while the Pope’s condition is stabilizing, his overall health remains complex.
“The Holy Father’s health condition is stable within a still-complex overall picture. The prognosis remains guarded,” the Holy See Press Office stated.
