President Museveni has flown to Zanzibar for a working visit, State House has announced.
In a statement on Thursday evening, the Presidential Press Unit said Museveni’s visit is on the invitation of his Tanzanian counterpart, Dr.Samia Suluhu Hussein.
“At Entebbe International Airport, President Museveni was seen off
by the Vice President of Uganda, H.E Jessica Rose Epel Alupo, the Head of Public Service and Secretary to the Cabinet, Ms. Lucy Nakyobe, the Deputy Chief of Defence Forces (D/CDF), Lt. Gen. Peter Elwelu, Uganda Police Director of Human Resource Development, AIGP. Godfrey Golooba and the Deputy Commissioner General of Prisons, Mr. Samuel Akena,” State House said.
This is the second time in two months that President Museveni is visiting Zanzibar.
He has previously graced the 60th anniversary for Zanzibar’s revolution held in January at
Amaan Sports Complex, Zanzibar.
