Former Radio Uganda presenter, Alhajj Nsereko Abdul who is also the father to Kampala Central Member of Parliament, Muhammad Nsereko has passed on.
“He was diabetic, but I was chatting with him yesterday, and he was so lively. But he later passed,” MP Nsereko said at his home in Bugoloobi.
Nsereko served as a presenter at Radio Uganda in the 1970s and later Uganda Broadcasting Corporation UBC before later assuming the role of the director of political programs.
He also previously served as a Resident District Commissioner .
Speaker of Parliament, eulogized the Nsereko’s dad.
“I offer my deepest condolences, along with those from the Parliament of Uganda, on the passing of your father, Alhajj Nsereko Abdul. May the Almighty Allah grant you and your family strength during this difficult time,” Among said on her X page.
Deputy Speaker, Thomas Tayebwa said, “I join the country in mourning Alhajj Nsereko Abdul, who passed away this morning. During our university days, Alhajj mentored most of us in politics. He has served the country in several capacities, and I’m glad his son, Alhajj Nsereko Mohamed, has kept the family legacy shining. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”
Burial arrangements
Prayers are expected to be held at Kibuli Mosque at 9:00 am on Thursday, and later the body will be transported to Bulika, Nama Sub County in Mukono district where he will be buried at 2:00 pm.
