A medical personnel and a shamba boy have been arraigned before the Nakawa Chief Magistrates Court and charged in relation to the alleged murder of businessman, Henry Katanga.
Charles Otai, 31 a nursing officer and George Amanyire, 30 were on Tuesday afternoon arraigned before the Nakawa Chief Magistrate and charges related to being accessory to the fact of murder contrary to section 393 (1), 394 of the Penal Code Act read against them.
Prosecution alleges that the two received or assisted other people who were to their knowledge liable of an offence in order to enable them escape a punishment.
The same court also charged Nkwanzi Martha Katanga of destroying evidence related to the case contrary to section 102 of the Penal Code Act.
Prosecution alleges that the two knowing that diverse things at the scene of crime may be required as evidence in a judicial proceeding removed or destroyed or rendered them illegible or undecipherable with intent to prevent them from being used in evidence.
They denied the charges and Nakawa Chief Magistrate, Erias Kakooza remanded them until December 4 when they will appear for mention of the case.
The chief magistrate however issued criminal summons against Molly Katanga who is currently hospitalized and Patricia Kakwanza to face charges of murder and destroying evidence respectively in relation to Henry Katanga’s death.
