A lightning strike has claimed the lives of 14 people where attending a church service on Saturday in Lamwo, in Northern Uganda.
According to Police spokesperson, Kituuma Rusoke, the incident happened during a prater service in Zone 8, Block 2 in Palabek settlement camp.
“A total of 14 people were killed and 34 others left injured,” Rusoke said.
He said the victims, yet to be identified, had gathered for prayers when the rain started around 5:00 PM, and the lightning thunder struck at 5:30 PM.
The injured according to police, were evacuated to Paluda health center III where they are getting medical attention.
