Singer Edirisa Musuuza, also known as Eddie Kenzo has asked the Uganda National Musicians Federation that he heads to investigate the spat between singers Priscilla Zawedde, aka Azawi and Reagan Muhairwe also known as Ray G.
In a statement on Tuesday, Kenzo said tribal sentiments have played out in the spat that he said need to be investigated for an amicable solution which will lead to unity.
“ I have been following closely as events unfold both in Mbarara and Kampala about the tribal sentiments, and I must tell you it’s absurd for our industry at this time when our main focus is unity well,”Kenzo said.
“ I have directed the Uganda National Musicians Federation secretariat to fully investigate and give a report from which findings the executive will advise.”
The Sitya Loss singer said he personally condemns acts of violence and tribalism within the industry “because our Ugandan culture is rich because of its diversity, and let’s be reminded that we don’t choose who we are.”
“ I also encourage association leaders from Greater Ankore to work with the Secretariat to ensure that sanity prevails again. “
The development comes following a spat between Azawi and Ray G over who should sing first during a concert held in Mbarara last month.
The spat has seen fans for both camps use tribal sentiments against each other and it reached the climax on December, 31, during the Enkuuka concert when Ray G was belted with bottles as he performed.
