Uganda National Roads Authority has announced that Kampala-Masaka Highway is now reopened to traffic after the damaged section in Kyengera was repaired.
“Remedial work on the restoration of the damaged spot at Kyengera-Budo section is now complete. The highway is now fully open to traffic,” UNRA said on its social media platforms.
The Kyengera section of the highway caved in following a heavy downpour on Sunday , paralysing traffic.
Motorists had to use alternative routes after the road was blocked.
There several complains from motorists that even the alternative routes were either narrow or had got damaged by the unusual heavy traffic.
The repairing of the damaged section of Kampala-Masaka Highway in Kyengera is a sigh of relief to motorists .
