M-Net’s Pearl Magic Prime has unveiled its latest comedy series, Kajjubi’s Estate, created by seasoned actor Micheal Wawuyo Sr.
The fresh and hilarious show is set to premiere tonight, Thursday, January 2, at 7:30 pm, and will take over the weekly Thursday slot previously held by Juniors’ Drama Club.
Set against the backdrop of vibrant city life in Uganda, Kajjubi’s Estate follows the unlikely bond between Omodo, a smooth-talking yet struggling city dweller, and Kevo, a procrastinating IT specialist who works from home. The two find themselves sharing an apartment after a double-booking error forces them to live together temporarily.
Adding to the comedic chaos is Kajjubi Jr., the energetic son of their landlord, who often barges in, enjoying what he calls “roommate privileges,” and Commando, the estate’s quirky security guard whose mysterious relationship with the landlord adds an extra layer of intrigue.
The series explores the hilarious contrast between Omodo’s scheming, unemployed nature and Kevo’s relaxed, routine-driven lifestyle.
Their endless disagreements, from money issues to who controls the TV, provide ample opportunities for humor. Kajjubi Jr.’s frequent interruptions and Commando’s antics further fuel the comic tension, creating an atmosphere of unpredictable, chaotic humor.
Margaret Mathore, Head of Channel for M-Net East Africa, expressed her excitement for the new show, noting that Kajjubi’s Estate celebrates local talent and Ugandan culture.
“We’re thrilled to launch Kajjubi’s Estate, which highlights the humor, resilience, and everyday challenges of Ugandan life. It’s a show filled with laughs, relatable drama, and characters who feel like family,” Mathore said.
The series features an exceptional cast, with Okello Okello playing Omodo, the self-proclaimed lawyer; Peter Okiror as Kevo, the laid-back IT specialist; Don Andre as Kajjubi Jr., the high-spirited landlord’s son; and Ivan Mwesiga as Commando, the bold and mischievous security guard.
Rinaldi Jamugisa, PR and Communications Manager at MultiChoice Uganda, emphasized that Kajjubi’s Estate reflects MultiChoice’s commitment to providing authentic local content that resonates with viewers.
“We aim to offer viewing experiences that capture the humor and heart of our audience’s world. Kajjubi’s Estate does exactly that, taking viewers on a memorable Ugandan journey with an incredible cast,” he said.
Pearl Magic Prime continues to strengthen its position as a leading platform for local storytelling, bringing diverse and engaging content to Ugandan audiences.
