Former Mawokota North Member of Parliament, Amelia Kyambadde has said she will seek reelection in the 2026 general election.
“The current representative has been a strong advocate for the music industry but has failed to represent his Mawokota constituents. Their voices do not reach parliament, which is why I have made this decision. I’m returning to represent the people of Mawokota and advocate for more services to improve their standard of living,” Kyambadde said.
She was on Thursday appearing on Sanyuka TV
Kyambadde, a former Principal Private Secretary to President Museveni was defeated in the 2021 general election by Dr.Hillary Kiyaga also known as Dr.Hilderman who belongs to the opposition National Unity Platform.
Prior to the previous election, Kiyaga had campaigned for Kyambadde.
However, speaking on Thursday, Kyambadde said it is time she reclaimed the seat.
“The people of Mawokota have been used to a certain decorum which over time we have seen lacks with Dr Hilderman.I think we shall have to reclaim the seat from him,” she added.
