Gerald Paul Kasaato has been confirmed as the substantive deputy managing director of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), Uganda.
The appointment was confirmed by the NSSF board chairman, Dr. Peter Kimbowa.
“The Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development has appointed Mr. Gerald Paul Kasaato as the substantive Deputy Managing Director of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), Uganda,” the statement by Dr.Kimbowa reads in part.
The appointment follows recommendation by the NSSF Board of Directors .
Kasaato was in 2023 appointed as the acting NSSF deputy Managing Director to replace Patrick Ayota who had been elevated to become the Managing Director.
Prior to this appointment, Kasaato had been serving as the Chief Investments Officer since April 2014 , having joined NSSF in 2011 as a portfolio manager in charge of equities.
He has also worked as Finance and Investment manager for National Housing and Construction Company and as manager Investment and Treasury.
Kasaato is a CFA Charter holder, a Chartered Accountant of the UK, a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute of the UK, and a Certified Public Accountant of Uganda.
He is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School (US).
He holds an MBA in Finance from Exeter University in the UK, a Master of Science Degree in International Finance and Investments from the London Southbank University in the UK.
He also obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Oxford Brookes University in the UK, and a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) from Nottingham Trent University in the UK.
Kasaato has undertaken executive trainings at University of Pennsylvania (US) and the London Business School in the UK.
