The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), in partnership with MTN Uganda, has launched a new official jersey for the Uganda Cranes, ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The unveiling ceremony, held at MTN Uganda headquarters in Kampala, brought together top officials from both MTN Uganda and FUFA. The new jerseys showcase a bold, partial-stripe pattern inspired by the colours of Uganda’s national flag — black, yellow, red, and white.
Four unique designs were introduced: a yellow kit with black accents, a red kit with black details, a white kit with black elements, and a distinctive black kit highlighted by red and yellow touches.
Speaking at the event, Somdev Sen, MTN Uganda’s Chief Marketing Officer, underscored the jersey’s significance as a symbol of national pride and unity.
“This jersey is not just apparel; it’s a statement of our collective identity and support for the Uganda Cranes,” he said. “We encourage all Ugandans to wear it with pride and rally behind our team during the AFCON qualifiers.”
Rogers Byamukama, a member of FUFA’s Executive Committee responsible for marketing, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the strong partnership between MTN Uganda and the football federation. “The new jersey captures the passion and determination of the Uganda Cranes,” Byamukama said.
