Former Inspector General of Police, John Cossy Odomel has died, his family has announced.
In a statement on Tuesday, the family said Odomel died in India
“The family deeply mourns the passing of Mr. John Cossy Odomel a distinguished former Inspector General of Police and a beloved father. He peacefully passed away on the morning of Tuesday February, 18, 2025, in India,” the statement said in brief.
“His invaluable contributions to the Uganda Police Force will forever be remembered.”
They said the burial arrangements will be communicated in the due course
Odomel served as police chief between 1992 and 1999 and was replaced by John Kisembo.
