Abba Marcus Mayanja, the son of singer Joseph Mayanja, also known as Jose Chameleone has opened up on the illness his dad is suffering from.
The legendary musician was last week admitted to Nakasero Hospital where he is receiving treatment for an unknown sickness.
However, his son has said his dad is suffering from acute pancreatitis, a condition linked to his repeated intake of alcohol.
“As you al know, my father is not doing well and is in hospital. My father suffers from acute pancreatitis . In most cases this is a condition caused by repeated alcohol use. In this case this is what is going on with my father,” Abba Mayanja said in a video on TikTok.
“ To put things simple, my father suffers with alcohol addiction . It is something he has been suffering with for a while now.”
He however said if this pattern continues, the legendary singer might be left with little time on earth.
“I want you to know that if my father continues with this pattern, according to doctors, he has two years left, and this really hurts me because this is my father I have known my entire life, better than anyone on earth even the people that listen to his music.”
“We need to work together to give my father the help he needs. I am very infuriated and angered by my father because I feel like he’s making selfish decisions.”
He however took a swipe at sections of the public who are blaming his mother, Daniella Atim for the singer’s predicaments.
Abba Mayanja also took a swipe at his grandparents for not prioritizing Chameleone’s health .
“Never in my life have I seen such unconcerned parents that are so careless about their children’s wellbeing. In this case I am talking about my father’s parents,” Abba said.
“You would expect my father’s parents to care about him the most if anything being their favourite child considering he gave them his name. No one in the country would know who the Mayanjas are if it wasn’t because of my father.”
Chameleone’s son also didn’t mince words blasting his dad’s friends for not being caring.
“The people around my father do not care about his wellbeing, do not have his best interests at heart. If his friends were actually his friends, my father wouldn’t be in this circumstance. They just don’t care about him. They don’t care about him, they just care about the monetary value.”
