Religious leaders and Christians in Soroti on Sunday held prayers at St.Patrick Catholic Church in Soroti city to curse unidentified thieves who stole two cows belonging to the diocese bishop.
In an incident that happened on the night of December, 19, thieves broke into Soroti diocese kraal and stole two cows belonging to Rt.Rev. Dr. Joseph Eciru Oliach, Bishop of Soroti Catholic Diocese which were part of the 22 cow donation by parishioners.
The cattle were donated to support the fundraising drive for the construction of Regina Caeli Cathedral spearheaded by Bishop Eciru.
However, on December, 19, thieves cut the chain link and barbed wire surrounding the kraal and made off with two cows.
On Sunday, the clergy Rev. Fr. Henry Agit, a priest at St. Patrick Catholic Parish, organized prayers at the church to curse the thieves who stole the cows.
“This curse goes to the whole earth and in accordance with it, every thief shall be expelled from planet earth.”
They also asked police to expedite investigations into the matter so that culprits are brought to book.
