Tian Tang Group, a leading industrial enterprise in Uganda, has extended relief support to residents of Bulambuli District affected by the devastating landslides.
The relief items, including mattresses and blankets, were officially handed over to Umukhukha III, the head of the Bamasaba Cultural Institution, Inzu Ya Masaba.
The donation was led by Mr. Frank Liu, Deputy Manager of Sino Uganda Mbale Industrial Park, a subsidiary of Tian Tang Group.
The company emphasised its commitment to supporting local communities during times of crisis.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Mr. Liu said, “This initiative is part of our continued efforts to give back to the communities around us and stand with them during challenging times.”
The landslides, triggered by heavy rains, have left many families in Bulambuli displaced, with their homes and livelihoods destroyed.
The relief package is expected to offer some respite to the victims as they rebuild their lives.
In addition to the donation, Tian Tang Group has launched a blood donation drive involving its employees to bolster local health services.
The company also opened an alternative gate at Sino Uganda Mbale Industrial Park to improve accessibility for residents of Masanda and neighbouring areas, addressing long-standing concerns about restricted movement.
Tian Tang Group, known for its extensive investments in industrial development, operates Sino Uganda Mbale Industrial Park, a flagship project aimed at boosting Uganda’s manufacturing sector.
The group has been instrumental in job creation and enhancing trade in the eastern region of the country.
The landslide victims and the surrounding community have lauded the group’s efforts, describing them as a beacon of corporate responsibility in Uganda.
