Police in Kampala are holding one suspect over the theft of a census tablet that went missing in Luweero last week.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Fred Ssekamatte was arrested by Katwe police station while selling the tablet.
“ He was trying to get sellers for the tablet which investigations have indicated was stolen from Luweero,” he said.
The development follows the arrest of an enumerator in Luweero who had reported that the census tablet given to him by Uganda Bureau of Statistics had gone missing under unknown circumstances.
The gadget was stolen on the first day of enumeration exercise.
