It was a rare scene for street kids in Kampala as National Unity Platform president, Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine shared with them a special new year’s day message.
The NUP leader made an impromptu visit to street children with whom he shared food and other goodies to light up their new year.
“Only those who have slept hungry for lack of food or slept on the street before would understand the pain which these people go through every day. We thought it was important to share with them the first supper of the new year and give them words of encouragement,” Kyagulanyi said.
He added, “ It is also important to raise their plight, because they end up on the streets for different reasons. Such people must be thought about as we plan and strive to build a nation where all citizens live in dignity.”
According to Bobi Wine, sharing and caring for such unprivileged members of the public is a duty for everyone to fulfill.
