The president of the National Unity Platform, Robert Kyagulanyi, also Bobi Wine has for the second time escaped from security that is keeping siege at his home to emerge in the city again.
Kyagulanyi on Saturday posted photos with some of the party members together with his supporters in Kabowa, in Lubaga division, to the surprise of security.
“While the military and police are increasing deployment at Magere and are looking for me everywhere to take me back into house arrest, we spent part of the afternoon in Kabowa having lunch and interacting with our people,” he posted on his social media accounts.
The development came on the backdrop of increased deployment at Kyagulanyi’s home by security.
Following the first escape from home detention on Friday, security was further beefed up at the NUP leader’s home in Magere, in Wakiso district.
Police and the army deployed more officers to guard his home, whereas several roadblocks were also erected as some of the new measures to contain the NUP leader.
Security last week laid siege at the homes of several opposition leaders including Dr.Kizza Besigye in Kasangati, Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago in Wakaliga and Kyagulanyi in Magere following the announcement of protests against poor roads in the city.
Nevertheless, some of these opposition leaders, including Besigye and Bobi Wine managed to escape from their homes and were able to join the protests where they planted bananas in potholes in some of the roads.
