National Unity Platform deputy party spokesperson, Waiswa Mufumbiro has warned the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among to stop attacking her predecessor, Rebecca Kadaga.
“Here in Busoga we are for Kadaga and I will say it since others are fearing mentioning it. If there are any issues, stop blaming them on Kadaga. You got him out of parliament(as speaker). Hon Among, don’t be in Bukedea and start abusing her. She retired. I have said it as Waiswa Mufumbiro and I speak my mind. Leave Kadaga alone,” Mufumbiro said.
He was on Thursday speaking at the funeral of Ramathan Waiswa, the younger brother of Bugweri County MP Abdu Katuntu who died in an accident.
Speaker Anita Among also attended the funeral in Bugiri
While in Bukedea last month, Among told a rally that some “old women” were spearheading a smear campaign against her and the institution of Parliament.
“We should do away with those old women who think Teso doesn’t want to have a speaker,” Among said.
She said this in relation to the social media exhibition where members of the public attacked parliament over extravagance.
Whereas Among didn’t mention any name, many said she was referring to her predecessor, Rebecca Kadaga.
Speaking during the funeral of Ramathan Waiswa, the NUP deputy spokesperson used the opportunity to tell off Among
“Leave Kadaga alone, do your job. Eat your loot but let Kadaga be in peace. You removed her from that office, let her be wherever she is in peace. She is our mother who has been there for us.”
