Airtel Uganda has reinforced its commitment to improving network connectivity in Kabale Municipality by launching five new network sites.
The new sites, located at Kyetobokeire, Kekuubo, Nyabushabi, Rwakabara, Ahakempu – Katuna Road, Irimbo – Katuna Road, Mwanjari, and Kigongi, will enhance call clarity, boost internet speeds, and improve overall coverage.
Speaking at the commissioning event, Airtel Uganda’s Sales Director, Mr. Wongani Muthayi, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to bridging the digital divide and driving economic transformation through reliable connectivity.
“Connectivity is more than just a service; it is a gateway to cross-border trade, education, business growth, healthcare, and financial inclusion. We understand that for Kabale to continue thriving, it needs a strong, reliable network. These new sites will support economic activities and digital access for our customers in the region,” said Muthayi.
The investment is expected to benefit businesses, students, farmers, and families by enabling better digital access, supporting trade, and improving livelihoods. Airtel Uganda also continues to strengthen its presence in the region with 96 Airtel Money branches, 3,400 agents, and two service centers.
Kabale Municipality Deputy Mayor Kedress Mutabazi, who represented the Chairman LC5 at the launch, commended Airtel Uganda for its investment in the region.
“I thank Airtel Uganda for thinking about the people of Kabale and expanding the network to support growing economic activity. Airtel has always been affordable, but the network was a challenge. I applaud them for addressing this,” she said.
Airtel Uganda remains committed to supporting national development by continuously investing in network infrastructure to ensure seamless connectivity across the country.
“We are grateful to the people of Kabale for their trust in Airtel Uganda. This investment is part of our broader strategy to enhance connectivity across Uganda, ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital revolution,” Muthayi added.
