Airtel Uganda has reinforced its commitment to providing superior network connectivity by commissioning five new network sites in Soroti.
This expansion is part of Airtel’s continued investment in enhancing network coverage and ensuring a brilliant digital experience for its customers in the greater Teso region.
The new sites in Soroti are one of several being deployed across the country as part of Airtel’s continued investment in expanding its 100% 4G network. With this expansion, residents and businesses in Soroti can expect stronger signal strength, faster internet speeds, and improved overall service quality.
Speaking at the launch event, Wongani Muthiya, the Airtel Sales Director, emphasized the company’s dedication to bridging the digital divide and supporting economic transformation through reliable connectivity.
“Our goal is to ensure that every Ugandan, regardless of location, can enjoy reliable and affordable digital services. The new sites in Soroti are another step toward closing the connectivity gap and supporting local communities with the tools they need to grow, connect, and thrive.”
While the official launch event is showcasing one of these sites, all five are now operational and ready to serve the people of Fort Portal. This development will directly benefit our tourists, local businesses, students, farmers, and families by
enabling them to stay connected and leverage digital opportunities to improve their livelihoods.
In his remarks, the Resident District Commissioner of Soroti District, Paul Eseru, welcomed the development.
“We appreciate Airtel’s investment in our district. Reliable network coverage is essential for everything from education to commerce and healthcare. This initiative will not only improve communication but also contribute to the social and economic transformation of our people.”
According to officials, Airtel Uganda remains committed to supporting national development through continuous investment in network infrastructure across the country.
“Access to a stable network is no longer a luxury, it’s a necessity. Airtel’s investment in Soroti supports education, healthcare, and entrepreneurship. We’re glad to see private sector players like Airtel step up to bridge the digital divide,” Eseru noted.
Airtel Uganda’s infrastructure expansion comes as part of its broader mission to deliver a brilliant digital experience to all Ugandans, ensuring no one is left behind in the digital age.
