The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Annet Among, is set to lead a high-level Ugandan delegation to Vatican City this week to pay final respects to the late Pope Francis.
Speaker Among, who had a personal connection with the late Pontiff, is seen as a fitting representative for Uganda at the burial of the beloved spiritual leader.
During her earlier visits to the Vatican, Among met Pope Francis on several occasions one notably when she was expecting her twins.
In a widely circulated video, she is heard humbly requesting the Pope to pray for her pregnancy.
After the birth of her twins, she returned to the Vatican, this time bringing the children with her. The Pope, known for his warmth and compassion, blessed the twins a moment Among has described as deeply spiritual and memorable.
