Coca-Cola Uganda has announced the return of its legendary “Share a Coke” campaign, offering fresh brand experiences and inviting a new generation to experience the magic of personalised connection for Ugandans.
The campaign returns with a fresh twist that speaks directly to Gen Z’s desire for real, authentic connection.
The campaign’s return was launched through an innovative cross-border activation, students from Makerere University Business School (MUBS) in Uganda and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in Kenya came together virtually for a vibrant “Cross-Border Toast” – celebrating friendship, unity, and unforgettable Coke moments.
The landmark event is part of Coca-Cola’s broader East and Central Africa campaign relaunch, designed to bring people together in an era of fleeting digital interactions by providing real-life, tangible moments that create lasting memories.
“The ‘Share a Coke’ campaign has always been about creating genuine human connections, and this East African activation takes that concept to a new level. By connecting students across borders, we’re not just sharing a refreshing beverage – we’re sharing culture, friendship, and the spirit that unites East Africa. In today’s world, where digital interactions can feel fleeting, this campaign offers a tangible way for young people to connect authentically,” said Arthur Akankwasah, Coca-Cola Franchise Manager, Uganda.
The relaunch featured personalized Coca-Cola cans and bottles emblazoned with popular names from Uganda and Kenya, reflecting the region’s diversity and warmth. In addition to the on-ground excitement, students and fans across Uganda can scan QR codes on packaging to access the “Share a Coke Memory Maker”, a dynamic digital hub where they can generate personalized video content, share messages with friends, and create custom name labels.
“At Coca-Cola, we are always looking for fresh ways to connect with the youth and remain part of their everyday moments,” said Vivienne Olenyo, Frontline Marketing Manager – Coca-Cola East & Central Africa.
“The return of ‘Share a Coke’ is a celebration of friendship, self-expression, and community – values we know Gen Z holds dear. Whether online or offline, we’re inviting them to create and share magical memories that are deeply personal and joyfully shared.”
Over the next three months, Coca-Cola will bring the campaign to life across Uganda through engaging experiences at universities, malls, eateries, and social hubs.
The relaunch is expected to reach more than 120 countries worldwide as Coca-Cola continues to bridge the digital and physical worlds—making every Coke moment more personal, more fun, and more magical.
