President Yoweri Museveni is expected in Kawempe North Constituency today to campaign for NRM candidate Faridah Nambi.
Today marks the final day of campaigns in Kawempe North, and President Museveni, who is also the leader of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), will join party officials who have been mobilizing support for Nambi.
His visit aims to rally voters behind the NRM candidate ahead of Thursday’s by-election.
Museveni is expected to address two rallies in Kawempe North.
Over the past few days, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has been actively campaigning alongside Faridah Nambi, urging residents to vote for her to ensure improved service delivery.
Nambi faces stiff competition from National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate Erias Nalukoola Luyimbaazi.
NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has also been in Kawempe, drawing large crowds in support of his candidate.
His campaign efforts previously led to confrontations with security forces.
Kawempe North Constituency will go to the polls on Thursday, March 13, with ten candidates contesting for the parliamentary seat.
