Larose Royal Apartments located along Katonga Road in Nakasero have been opened to add to Kampala’s skyline.
Speaking during the opening ceremony, Charlie Wang, the chairman of Larose Royal Apartments said the project covers an area of 1.4 acres with a total of 156 suites.
“We invested in these apartments to bring a luxury living style to Ugandans. We have invested more than $50 million in this project to help develop the real estate sector in Uganda,” Wang said.
“The apartments have an oversized swimming pool, children playground, gym centre, Chinese therapy, meeting area, high-end shopping centre, wife, red wine bar, Chinese and western restaurants, steam, sauna, cigar bar, and standby generator among others.”
He explained that the 156 units are in two categories, including 2+1 which has two bedrooms and one for the maid starting at 185 square metres which go for $260,000 and 3+1 which goes for $300,000.
He said the buyers can pay in installments that can go up to one year or to use bank guarantee by paying 20% deposit and the balance can be paid in seven years.
The State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Henry Okello Oryem said the new apartments will not only help in closing the housing gap but also contribute revenue in form of taxes to government.
“I am impressed by the quality of the workmanship and finish of the job .I travel a lot around the world and the standards I have seen here are like those I see in Western Europe.I must congratulate the owners for bringing to Uganda a new standard of condominiums, flats and apartments which will put to pressure and encourage other companies to emulate these high standards,” Oryem said.
“Government will get revenue in form of taxes but also create jobs for Ugandans who will be working here. The suppliers of goods and services to these apartments will also earn money and create employment.”
Nestled in the heart of Nakasero, the units have a total of 5,608 square metres, 280 parking spaces, 161 apartments, 431 rooms with breathtaking views of the city skyline, and a host of amenities including a rooftop pool, fitness center, and lush gardens, residents experience the epitome of luxury living.
Leasing a two-bedroom unit goes for $3,500-$4,000 per month and the three-bedroom units go for $4,500-$5,000 per month.
