Police in Mityana have kicked off investigations into circumstances under which a man who had been invited by a friend for Christmas was killed after being found making love with the wife.
According to the Wamala region police spokesperson, Racheal Kawala, the incident happened at Busaato Kyamagemule village, Kalangaalo sub county in Mityana district on the night of Christmas when Edward Ssekiwunga, 48 was allegedly found making love with the wife of Peter Bafirawala who had invited him for Christmas as his home.
Territorial police in Mityana are actively investigating murder by stabbing incident that occured on 25th/12/2024 at about 2300hrs at Busaato Kyamagemule village Kalangaalo subcounty in Mityana district.
“It is alleged that Bafirawala invited the deceased together with other people for Christmas party at their home. The deceased first went to Kalangalo to watch a football match and later proceeded to the suspects home at around 11pm but the suspect was already sleeping ,so he decided to move out with the wife to the suspect,” Kawala said.”
“When the suspect woke up and realized that his wife was not around, he became suspicious and followed them and found the deceased and his wife allegedly making love in the coffee and plantation.”
Police say Bafirawala stabbed both his wife and his friend Ssekiwunga with a knife but the wife was not injured badly.
Unfortunately, Ssekiwunga had deep wounds and could not run away.
“The deceased was discovered in the morning in a very critical condition in the plantation by a child who later alerted the parents .He unfortunately succumbed to the injuries while being rushed for treatment,” Kawala said.
She said when police visited the scene, they found the deceased with four stab wounds on the ribs and buttocks.
The body has since been taken to Mityana hospital mortuary for postmortem examination but the suspect is currently on the run and efforts to have him arrested are on.
Meanwhile, the suspect’s home has been razed down by an angry mob.
