President Museveni is later today expected to officiate at the grand opening of All Saints Cathedral in Nakasero whose construction has lasted 13 years.
During the grand opening, Bishop Alfred Olwa of Lango Diocese will be the main preacher at the celebration that will lead to the ordination of deacons, priesting and installation of clergy .
Also, a line of activities including the Consecration of Canon Fredrick Jackson Baalwa who replaces Bishop Hannington Mutebi as assistant Bishop of all saints Cathedral.
The construction of the facility which is expected to host 5000 worshippers began in 2011 and is estimated to have cost over shs26 billion.
The cathedral includes four chapels, offices, and a 45-meter bell tower.
It also includes the office of the Bishop of Kampala Diocese and the Parish, a two-level underground parking, four chapels, a coffee centre, and a library, reflecting the church’s mission to integrate faith with the practical needs of the community.
