Lujja Tabula, the man suspected of orchestrating the murder of Ndiga clan head, Eng. Dan Bbosa has recorded an extrajudicial statement confessing to hiring the killers.
An extra-judicial statement is made by a suspect before a magistrate to narrate his/her role in the commission of an alleged crime.
On Friday, Lujja spent the better part of the afternoon before Buganda Road Chief Magistrate, Ronald Kayizzi recording the statement.
According to sources privy to the matter, in his own words, Tabula confessed killing Bbosa in revenge after his(Tabula) father, a one Israel was allegedly killed by the deceased and that his family members.
He said despite killing his fathers, the killers were never punished, prompting him to kill Bbosa in revenge.
Tabula also told the magistrate that the late Bbosa and his family members sold off the Ndiga clan land at Mbale in Mpigi after the demise of the first Lwomwa Kalyesubula, and the people who bought it built a toilet on his grave forcing his ancestors to relocate to Namulonge .
He said that where he is the true clan head for ndiga, his efforts to assume this leadership were frustrated by Bbosa, prompting him to eliminate him.
Tabula said in his close to five hour confession that the 17 skulls recovered from his shrine in Mpigi were obtained to work on his ancestral/ clan spirits denying killing human beings to get them.
He is expected to be taken to court to be charged formally next week.
Tabula was arrested on Monday by operatives from Crime Intelligence after playing a ping-pong game with security for six months since the February, 25 shooting in Lungujja, a Kampala suburb.
He will be added onto the other five suspects including Noah Lujja , 21 accused of pulling the trigger, Harriet Nakiguli, 40, Joseph Nakabale, 47, Ezra Mayanja and Milly Naluwenda, 46, a Buganda traditional court clerk who are currently on remand.
Their arrest followed the gruesome murder of Eng. Bbosa as he returned home on the evening of February 25.
Locals would later give a chase to the shooters who were travelling on a motorcycle, killing one of them on the spot, while Noah Lujja sustained injuries and was arrested.
Following the arrest, Tabula fled his home and hid in a number of places including islands in Mukono district, Mpigi and Kiwenda, from where he was arrested on Monday.
On Wednesday, state prosecutors told Mengo magistrates court that investigations into the cases are complete after the arrest of the prime suspect, noting that the file is ready to be committed to the High Court for trial of the suspects to begin.
