The Uganda Law Society is mourning the death of its former president , Deo Rubamba Nkunzingoma .
According to law society president, Bernard Oundo, Nkunzingoma died on Sunday morning at Nakasero Hospital where he has been receiving treatment.
“Mr. Deo Nkunzingoma was a dedicated lawyer, a cherished friend and a pillar of our society who will be remembered for his contribution to the legal fraternity,” law society said.
The lawyers’ body said their former president will be laid to rest on Wednesday in Ruburankono Gasiza, Nyakabande sub-county, Kisoro district, his ancestral home.
Before this, there will be a mass today, Monday at Christ the King Church in Kampala.
Born in the 1960s, in Kisoro, Nkunzingoma attended Kagera Primary School and upon completion, joined Mutolere Secondary School for Ordinary Level and thereafter Nyakasura School for Advanced Level education.
He would later enroll at Makerere University for a Bachelor’s of Law degree and graduated in January 1984.
Nkunzingoma worked at Ayigihugu’s Law firm, National Housing and Construction Corporation Legal office, Uganda Electricity Board as Legal Officer and Corporation Secretary and National Insurance Corporation before opening his law firm.
