Police in Kampala have kicked off investigations into circumstances under which a man jumped to his death from the top of Skyz Hotel, Naguru, one of Kampala’s leafy suburbs.
According to Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, the incident happened on Monday at around midday when an Indian national, Shukla Chiragkumar, 35 committed suicide.
“At approximately 12:30 am, it is alleged that the deceased fell from the fourth floor of the building in front of the hotel entrance, breaking his arm,” Owoyesigyire said.
“ He was promptly removed by hotel staff and rushed to UMC Bukoto, where he was pronounced dead. Preliminary investigations reveal that the deceased had checked into room 1402 with an as-yet-unidentified lady with whom he spent the night.”
Police said the motive behind the incident is still under investigation but the body of the deceased has been transported to the city mortuary at Mulago for a postmortem examination.
The development comes two days after a prominent Kampala digital marketer, John Babirukamu jumped to death from his apartment at Tagore Apartments in Kampala.
