President Museveni who is also the commander in chief of the armed forces has appointed Maj Gen Richard Otto as the new commander of Operations Shuja and Mountain Division.
In the same changes, the president has also sent Maj Gen Dick Olum who was holding both positions to South Sudan on a special assignment.
Gen Olum will monitor on behalf of the guarantors of the South Sudan peace process, the assembling, screening, demobilization and integration of the armed forces of South Sudan.
Gen Otto has been serving in this position.
