KCB Bank Uganda has announced a sponsorship worth shs60 million towards three illustrious rally drivers participating in the Pearl of Africa Rally.
Oscar Ntambi, Micheal George Mukula Jr who are local drivers together with Karan Patel, an international rally driver are the beneficiaries of this sponsorship package.
Earlier, KCB announced a shs80 million sponsorship package towards the organisation of this year’s Pearl of Africa Rally which kicked off yesterday in the areas of Jinja, Kakira, Source of the Nile, Bujagala and Kamuli road and will run until May 12.
Diana Komukama Ssempebwa, the Head of Marketing and Communications at KCB said the bank is committed to promoting rally talent and nurturing Uganda’s sporting landscape towards unprecedented growth.
“As KCB Bank Uganda, it is with immense pleasure that we announce our sponsorship to Micheal Mukula Jr, Oscar Ntambi and Karan Patel which illustrates our commitment to supporting sport and elevating the performance of both Ugandan and regional drivers. We also recognize the unifying power of sports within our communities and its pivotal role in driving national development and making Uganda a better place to live and work,” Ssempebwa said.
“Our contribution of shs80 million towards the organization of this year’s Pearl of Africa Rally and shs60 million to the drivers not only gives an opportunity to showcase the remarkable talent of local and regional rally drivers but also fosters a spirit of excellence and camaraderie.”
Speaking at the event, Karan Patel , a seasoned champion in competitions like the Africa Rally Championship among others commended KCB Bank Uganda for continuously supporting him.
“This is my second time to be sponsored by KCB Bank and I am thrilled by the bank’s steadfast commitment towards fostering my talent,” Patel said.
On the other side, Micheal George Mukula Jr too, could not hide his excitement.
“We are deeply honoured by KCB Bank’s unwavering belief in our abilities. With this sponsorship, we are fuelled to push our limits, not only for the pride of our sponsors but for the glory of Uganda as well.”
Oscar Ntambi said, “I have confidence that we have done amble preparations. We believe based on our performance, experience, and achievements, we stand a fighting chance at a decent finish and will give it our best shot.”
