President Museveni has directed that deceased Dokolo Woman MP, Cecilia Ogwal be accorded an official burial.
The development was announced by the Minister for Presidency, Milly Babalanda on Saturday.
“Dear Countrymen/Countrymen, I wish to inform you that the President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E Gen (Rtd) Kaguta Museveni, has granted an official burial to the Hon. Imat Cecilia Atim Ogwal , the fallen Dokolo District Woman Representative,” Babalanda said.
She also revealed that President Museveni will attend Ogwal’s vigil.
Funeral program released
According to the official funeral program released by parliament, Ogwal’s body will arrive into the country on Sunday, January, 21 before being taken to Mulago Hospital.
On Monday, the body will be taken to parliament for viewing and later in the afternoon, a special sitting will be held in Ogwal’s honour and later in the day, it will be taken to her home in Bugoloobi for a vigil.
On Tuesday, Cecilia Ogwal’s body will be taken to All Saints Cathedral in Nakasero for a memorial service before being flown to Dokolo for a vigil and later on Wednesday, there will be a special council sitting at Dokolo district headquarters.
Later on Thursday, there will be a church service at St.Augustine Cathedral in Lira , then a service at St.Paul Cathedral in Kole district before leaving for her home in Dog Gudu Cell, Alito town council in Kole district for a vigil.
On Friday, January, 26, there will be viewing of her body at her home and burial later on Saturday.
